Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to manage our company’s financial transactions, maintain accurate records, and support our accounting team. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, is proficient in accounting software, and enjoys working with numbers. This role reports directly to the CEO. It will consist of 25-30 hours per month at $25-$30/hour.
Responsibilities:
- Record and categorize financial transactions in accounting software
- Reconcile bank statements and accounts
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Prepare financial reports, such as profit and loss statements and balance sheets
- Assist with payroll processing and tax filings
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies
- Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records
- Collaborate with the accounting team and management on financial matters
Qualifications:
- 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Proficiency in QuickBooks
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping
- Ability to handle confidential financial information responsibly
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication skills
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required):
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Experience working in publishing
- Knowledge of payroll processing and tax regulations
